Community Books was established in 1997 as an imprint of the award-winning literary press, Roseway Publishing, to meet the demands of authors who wrote books beyond the scope and ability of Roseway to publish. Through our parent company we met dozens of writers who had publications that directly reflected local  issues: local writers who wrote local histories, poetry and stories. Hence the title we chose for our new company: Community Books.

Community Books is at the forefront of self-publishing. We have published over fifty books in every genre. Since 1997 our list has grown to include detective novels, medical works, children's literature and more.

While originally our authors were from the Maritimes, our field has widened to include writers from across Canada.
