| It's the Little Things Nancy R. Pouler, edited by Wilfred B. Pouler 1998, 216pp Nancy Renninger Pouler was born in Cuyohoga Falls, Ohio, USA, in 1925 and died at Lockeport, Nova Scotia, in 1995. The mother of four daughters and two sons, she nevertheless found time over several years to write weekly columns for two newspapers. When she and her husband Wilfred retired, they bought a house on the seacoast just outside Lockeport in Shelburne County, where they enjoyed the last years of her life. This book is a collection of Nancy Pouler's columns, put together as a tribute to a remarkable woman. Often moving and invariably funny, Nancy's columns were about herself and her family. She had the ability to take ordinary events and add a little insight and a lot of humor. Whether writing about her cat or her housework, her trip to Europe or her memories of Christmas past, Nancy's words bring a smile to the face and sometimes a tear to the eye. |
