A modest little treatise intended to be read only by family members and a small collection of friends has developed into a sizeable publication more by accident than by design. It took more than three years in the making. It covers a lifetime of more than nine decades.
This "preacher’s kid" had wonderful caring parents, a loving wife who shared sixty years with him, a devoted daughter, and many other fine family members. All of these helped me gain a sense of direction and keep me on course. I am deeply indebted to them.
